Plateau Police Arrest Man Accused Of Raping 23-Year-Old Woman In Grandmother’s Presence

According to the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Ayodeji Faniyan, the incident occurred on August 12, 2026, while the victim and her grandmother were working on a farm in the area.

The commissioner said the suspect allegedly approached the pair armed with a stick and attacked them before allegedly forcing himself on the 23-year-old woman.

“On 12/08/2026 at about 07:00am, we received a report that on the same date while working on their farm with her 23 years old granddaughter, one Adam Mohammed, male, 22 years of Mangor, Bokkos LGA armed with a stick, attacked them and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her granddaughter,” Faniyan said.

Following the report, police officers arrested the suspect, while the alleged victim was taken to a hospital for medical examination.

The police commissioner said Mohammed remains in custody as investigations continue, adding that the case would be taken to court for prosecution after the investigation is concluded.
