I Can’t Raise Another Man’s Child” — Portable Demands DNA Test For Ashabi’s Children

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has demanded DNA tests for the two children he has with actress Akinyanju Omobolarinde, also known as Ashabi Simple.

According to reports, the singer made the demand amid a fresh disagreement with Ashabi over the welfare and financial support of their children. Portable said he wanted the children’s paternity established through DNA testing before continuing to provide financial assistance for their upkeep.

The development followed complaints from Ashabi, who reportedly accused the singer of failing to adequately support the children. She alleged that Portable had provided only ₦200,000 for both children between January and September, while she had reportedly handled their school fees, feeding and clothing expenses.

Ashabi also said she had given Portable sufficient time to take greater responsibility for the children and approached him because she wanted him to play a more active role in their welfare.

In response, Portable questioned the children’s paternity, arguing that their physical resemblance to him was not enough to establish that he was their biological father.

The singer reportedly wrote on Instagram that he wanted a DNA test conducted as soon as possible, adding that he could not take responsibility for children whose paternity he was uncertain about. He also accused Ashabi of being untrustworthy and demanded that the children either be handed over to him or cared for by their mother.
