Seyi Tinubu: Prominent APC Leader Speaks Out as President’s Son Faces Criticism Over Northern Tour
A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and youth advocate, Isaac Balami, has dismissed the backlash against Seyi Tinubu’s recent tour of northern Nigeria, describing it as politically motivated and unwarranted………READ MORE
Balami emphasized that Seyi Tinubu’s humanitarian efforts have long preceded his father’s presidency and have benefited Nigerians across various political and religious lines. He urged the public to acknowledge young leaders contributing to national development rather than condemning them.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, Balami suggested that the criticism against Seyi Tinubu might be linked to growing calls for him to contest the Lagos State governorship election. He argued that Seyi’s philanthropic activities should be celebrated rather than politicized.
Balami further highlighted Seyi Tinubu’s long-standing charitable initiatives, including aid distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic and assistance to individuals regardless of political affiliations. He described the negative reactions as politically driven, stating that Seyi Tinubu’s goodwill has never been questioned until speculations about his political aspirations emerged.
The APC chieftain also pointed out that a significant portion of Seyi Tinubu’s workforce comes from northern Nigeria, underscoring his commitment to national unity. He encouraged Nigerians to support young leaders who are making meaningful contributions to society rather than discouraging them through undue criticism.
Meanwhile, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande weighed in on the growing speculation about Seyi Tinubu’s political future. In a recent interview, Olawande described Seyi as a leader and mentor, emphasizing his capacity to govern Lagos State should he decide to pursue the position.
