2023 Elections: See What Wike Asked Newly-Elected Reps Members To Do To PDP

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has charged the state’s newly elected National Assembly members not to pledge loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party National Working Committee when they are inaugurated.

Wike stated that because the party’s leadership did not contribute to the success of their elections, lawmakers should only be concerned with the unity of the country and the interests of Rivers State.

Governor Wike stated this when members-elect to the House of Representatives on the PDP platform came to him to present their certificates of return.

The governor expressed confidence that the PDP will perform well in the state’s next election, as it did in the February 25 polls, despite the fact that more groups have endorsed the party for the March 18 election.

Wike’s remarks come just hours after he attacked the campaign team of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar over their protest of the February 25 election results.
