Panic Grips Osogbo Community After Homeless Woman Found Beheaded

The headless body was found behind shops opposite the Osogbo Local Government Council Secretariat, sending shockwaves through the community.

According to reports gathered by DAILY POST, the victim, who had been homeless for several months, was known to the area’s residents. Tragically, her hands were also found to have been severed by her assailants, raising suspicions of ritualistic motives behind the gruesome act.

The discovery prompted fear among traders and shop owners in the vicinity, leading many to refrain from opening their shops for business, fearing arrest by law enforcement agencies.

By midday, residents and passersby had gathered at the scene of the horrific crime, but neither security agents nor local government authorities had taken steps to remove the corpse.

Speaking to DAILY POST, a resident identified as Lawal Akinwumi expressed shock and called for urgent government intervention in evacuating the victim’s remains and investigating her brutal murder.

“The victim had been homeless for some months and had been living beside the road in the area and begging for alms. We call on the state government and other appropriate authorities to evacuate the corpse and investigate the horrible killing of the woman,” Akinwumi pleaded.

Despite attempts to reach out to security agencies for comment, there was no response from the Osun State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, or the Spokesperson of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun State Command, Kehinde Adeleke.
