Married Car Influencer D!es In Crash With 22-Year-Old Woman He Flew Out For A Date

Married car influencer James Wehr, 27, and his 22-year-old passenger, Alexis “Lexi” Kramer, have died following a fiery car crash in Irvine, California.

According to reports, the fatal accident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, September 13, near Culver Drive and Deerfield Avenue.

Dashcam footage from another vehicle reportedly captured the final moments before Wehr’s purple McLaren crashed into a tree and burst into flames. The video shows the sports car accelerating before appearing to travel over a wet section of road. Its brake lights then came on as the vehicle swerved before colliding with the tree.

Irvine Police Department public information officer Ziggy Azarcon said investigators believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.

“We believe that speed was a factor in this,” Azarcon was quoted as saying.

Firefighters from Orange County responded to the scene and battled the blaze, while police later discovered the bodies after the fire and smoke had cleared. Images from the scene showed the McLaren heavily damaged, with debris scattered across the roadway.

Wehr was the founder of South OC Cars and Coffee in San Clemente and had attended one of the regular car events earlier on the day of the crash. About an hour before the fatal incident, he reportedly shared an Instagram post appearing to show a police vehicle pulling him over in Newport Beach.

Kramer, who was from Lakeland, Florida, had reportedly travelled to California on Friday, September 11, to meet Wehr. A family member said the pair had connected through Instagram and had been communicating for about a month before she made the trip.

According to the family member, Wehr had told Kramer that he was separated from his wife, Emma Wehr, and that divorce proceedings were underway. However, Orange County court records reportedly did not show that a divorce case had been filed.

The pair reportedly spent the weekend together, including going on a date, having breakfast and drinks, and attending Wehr’s car show before the crash.

Kramer was also described by her family as someone who had a strong interest in cars and motorcycles. A family member said her passion for the car community made the circumstances of her death particularly difficult for those who knew her.

The Irvine Police Department’s investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
