Tears Flow As Nollywood Veteran Ogogo Is Buried In Ilaro

Tears and grief filled Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday as the remains of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, were laid to rest according to Islamic rites.

According to IREPORTERONLINE, family members, friends, colleagues and sympathisers gathered in the actor’s hometown to pay their final respects to the 66-year-old film star, whose death has left the Yoruba movie industry in mourning.

Videos from the funeral proceedings showed mourners carrying Ogogo’s remains to the burial ground as the final Islamic rites were performed.

Among those who attended the burial were veteran actors Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Faithia Balogun, Femi Adebayo and Mr Latin, alongside Toyosi Adesanya, Ireti Osayemi, Bisi Omo Logbalogba and other members of the entertainment industry.

Ogogo’s longtime friend and colleague, Yinka Quadri, was visibly emotional during the ceremony and broke down in tears as mourners gathered to bid farewell to the late actor.

Family members and well-wishers also joined the funeral proceedings as the veteran actor was committed to the earth.

Before the burial, actor Bola Oyin-Adejobi paid tribute to Ogogo and prayed for the deceased to be granted eternal rest and admitted into Al-Jannah Firdaus.

Ogogo’s remains were brought to Ilaro on Sunday following his death earlier that day.

The veteran actor died at about 3pm on Sunday at the age of 66 after reportedly battling stage-four cancer.
