Akpoti-Uduaghan recently accused Akpabio of sexual harassment after discovering that her Senate seat was changed without her consent. In response, the Senate voted to refer her to the Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions for disciplinary action.

Reacting to the situation, Saraki, in a statement on Saturday, called for transparency in resolving the matter, stressing that parliamentary rules, conventions, and practices must be followed. He expressed concern over the negative impact of the dispute on the Senate’s public image.

“I have watched from afar the recent development in the Senate, and it saddens me due to its effect on the institution’s integrity,” Saraki stated. He urged all parties involved to ensure that their actions do not “rubbish” the credibility of the Senate.
