BREAKING: Good News For Nigerian Students As Court Orders ASUU To Suspend Strike
The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to suspend its seven months old strike.
The order followed the granting of an injunction sought by the counsel to the federal government.
The federal government’s counsel, James Igwe, had applied for an interlocutory injunction to restrain ASUU from continuing with the strike pending the determination of the referral by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.

In his ruling in Abuja on Wednesday, Justice Polycarp Hamman granted the government’s application.
He also dismissed the argument of Femi Falana, counsel to ASUU, that the interlocutory injunction should be dismissed and the court should instead grant an accelerated hearing for the referral earlier filed by Mr Ngige.
ASUU commenced the strike in February after it accused the federal government of reneging on previous agreements on matters such as increased funding of universities and increasing lecturers’ salaries.

THE COURT JUST CLIPPED THE OVERGROWN WINGS OF ASUU WHICH HAS OVERPLAYED ITS HANDS FOR A NATIONAL DISGRACE.
Dealt a big blow to DEFLATE the cancerous ego and arrogance of the commercial teachers in our ivory towers.
AND IMAGINE BELOW, HOW THE LAWLESS LECTURERS ATTEMPTED TO PREEMPT AND PREJUDICED THE VERDICT OF THE COURT.
‘ “If the court forces the lecturers to go to work tomorrow, which type of teaching will they do? If the court forces the Nigerian academics — say go and teach against your will — just like the court forcing a doctor to go and treat a patient against your will, how many of us will go and meet that doctor.””
THESE BUNCH ARE INSENSITIVE TO THE FUTURE OF OUR YOUTHS WITH THE IMPACT ON THE NATION AND HOW THEIR ILLEGAL MORIBUND RECKLESS ACTION WOULD JEOPARDISE OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM, THEREBY THE TOTALITY OF OUR COLLECTIVE WELLBEING.
Cocky pompous and stupid obstinacy of lecturers in our universities entrusted with the fortunes of our country.
DISGRACED AND ORDERED TO GO BACK TO WORK AND TEACH OUR STUDENTS. NOT ABSURD STRIKES THAT LEADS NOWHERE AND PAYS NOBODY IN PARTICULAR.
If and when all entreaties with reasons failed. Maybe and perhaps the judiciary would enforce the laws of the land upon the people that are expected to know, supposedly.
