The Federal Government will officially commence construction of the Cross River segment of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway on April 14. This segment is referred to as Section B3 of the coastal highway project.

“We will be heading to Cross River on the 14th to officially launch the construction, and on the 15th, we will proceed to Akwa Ibom for another launch,” he stated.
Umahi noted that the 65-kilometer stretch of road in question represents the most challenging terrain, effectively totaling 130 kilometers when considering the full scope.
Regarding the second significant project, the Sokoto-Badagry Highway, the minister highlighted that one section in Sokoto spans 120 kilometers.
“The third segment of the Sokoto-Badagry project will commence from Badagry, but we are currently facing some challenges,” he continued. “We need to cross rivers that are three kilometers wide, which entails significant financial investment.”
Umahi revealed that four possible solutions have been proposed, which he intends to discuss with the President. He assured that procurement will commence as soon as a decision is reached, paving the way for construction to begin thereafter. (NAN)
