John Mayaki Under Fire As Victor Oshioke Tutors Runaway APC Chieftain
Edo: In a fiery open letter that’s shaking the political landscape, Victor Oshioke has unleashed a barrage of criticism on John Mayaki, revealing a scathing portrayal of the runaway APC chieftain. The letter, dripping with disdain and dripping sarcasm, paints Mayaki as a bitter, discredited figure whose attempts to malign the Monday Okpebholo campaign are nothing short of laughable.
Oshioke’s letter starts with a mocking tone, as he laments the irony of Mayaki’s sudden vendetta against a candidate he once aspired to support. “It’s a shame,” Oshioke writes, “that you, John Mayaki, who fought tooth and nail to head the media department of Monday Okpebholo’s campaign, have now turned into his biggest critic. Did the loss of your desired position make you so bitter that you’ve embarked on a crusade of vengeance?”
Oshioke doesn’t hesitate to challenge Mayaki’s competence. He points out that Mayaki’s failure to secure the Director of Media and Publicity role was due to the fact that even his most ardent supporters, including Oshioke himself, couldn’t overlook his volatility and lack of teamwork. “We advocated for you,” Oshioke says, “but our efforts were overshadowed by those who saw through your erratic behavior.”
Oshioke accuses Mayaki of mercenary journalism. “It’s truly sad,” he adds, that Mayaki surrendered his journalistic integrity for $15,000 to undertake the hatchet job in the Asue Ighodalo campaign. He believes that for that price, Mayaki has devolved into a cheap social media urchin. What a fall from grace!
In a final, stinging rebuke, Oshioke advises Mayaki to quit politics and focus on journalism. Saying his erratic behavior and cantankerous nature makes him unfit for political office, he asserts. He thinks Mayaki may excel in responsible journalism if he clean up his act. Until then, he claims Mayaki is just a cautionary tale of how not to handle political disappointments.
Mayaki’s political career, it seems, is now the subject of scorn and ridicule, leaving his reputation in tatters and his future uncertain. The lesson here? Don’t cross Victor Oshioke unless you’re ready for an entertaining, if devastating, public lashing.
