The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted over 1,500 flight hours and 798 combat sorties in the last eight months as part of Operation Hadin Kai, killing 592 terrorists and destroying 372 enemy assets in the North-East. Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff, highlighted the enhanced precision strike capabilities with upgraded aircraft such as A-29 Super Tucano jets and Mi-171 helicopters, supported by advanced surveillance platforms. The air campaign has significantly weakened Boko Haram and ISWAP operations, with operations continuing day and night across key areas including Gonori, Rann, and Sambisa Forest.

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, praised the Air Force’s support and called for additional air power to tackle insurgents in hard-to-reach areas like Lake Chad and the Mandara Mountains. The Governor also emphasized continued cooperation between the military and civilian stakeholders to consolidate gains and address ongoing security challenges.
