In a statement released on Sunday by a spokesman for the Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation, Segun Ajiboye, the primary was described as a “show of shame,” with accusations leveled against the Ododo-led committee for failing to properly oversee the electoral process.

The statement asserted that no legitimate primary took place, with no indications of any election held in all 203 wards in Ondo State. It further claimed that the committee chairman arrived to “write the result of an election that was never conducted.”

Saturday’s supposed election was characterized as an event where party supporters waited for hours under the sun for electoral officers who never appeared, leading to widespread disillusionment among them.

The statement lamented the missed opportunity for the party to endear itself to the people of the state through a well-organized election process, criticizing the committee for organizing a sham that dashed the hopes and expectations of enthusiastic supporters for a robust democratic engagement.
