Patience Jonathan Accused of Keeping 15 Domestic Workers in Prison Since 2019

A shocking report has surfaced alleging that former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, has been holding 15 of her domestic staff in Bayelsa State’s Okaka Correctional Centre since 2019 on unproven theft charges. According to the report, the workers have been imprisoned without a court conviction, with their trials reportedly delayed multiple times under the influence of the former First Lady.

Sources claim that the workers are incarcerated due to alleged theft of Patience Jonathan’s jewelry, but no formal court trial has taken place. Despite the years that have passed, their trials remain stalled due to repeated postponements, allegedly under Jonathan’s direct influence.

A source revealed that although some legal services were previously offered to the workers by TECH4JUSTICE, the new Chief Judge has been accused of deliberately prolonging the case at the behest of the former First Lady.

Exclusive photos obtained by SaharaReporters show 12 of the 15 workers who have reportedly been denied their rights while their trials continue to be postponed. The detained workers include individuals such as Williams Alami, Vincent Olabiyi, and Emeka Benson, among others.

Three other detained workers—Boma Oba, Salomi Wareboka, and Sahabi Lima—were not featured in the photos. The report highlights the ongoing injustice faced by these individuals, raising questions about the abuse of power in this case.
