Peter Obi-Led Labour Party Hails Supreme Court Judgment on Leadership Dispute
The Labour Party, led by Nenadi Usman, has celebrated the Supreme Court’s judgment on the leadership dispute, which ruled in favor of Usman’s faction and invalidated Julius Abure’s claim to the national chairmanship. The ruling, delivered on Friday, annulled a previous Court of Appeal decision from January 17 that had recognized Abure as the legitimate chairman.
Usman, who heads the Caretaker Committee formed by Peter Obi and other key Labour Party figures, emphasized that the ruling represents a victory for the rule of law and a crucial moment for Nigeria’s democracy. She called on party members and stakeholders to unite and work together to move the party forward.
