Chaos in Calabar as Policeman Allegedly Runs Mad, Leaving Several Dead

A yet-to-be-identified police inspector reportedly opened fire at the Watt business area of Calabar, Cross River State, on Sunday, causing multiple casualties.

According to News report, the officer stepped out of a nearby police station with his firearm and began shooting indiscriminately. Reacting to the incident, the Cross River State Police Command confirmed the shooting via its handle. Although details were not fully disclosed, the command assured the public that the inspector had been apprehended and placed in detention.

“The matter has been handled this morning, and the inspector is in detention. A press release will be issued shortly,” the statement read.

The police have yet to release further details regarding the officer’s identity or the exact number of casualties.
