Garba-Bature commended the media, sister security agencies, and patriotic citizens for their cooperation in combating smuggling activities. He emphasized the command’s commitment to sustaining efforts against illicit trade, deploying operatives strategically along border areas to curb smuggling.

He attributed the successful interceptions to the support and encouragement from the leadership of the Nigerian Customs Service, under Comptroller-General Bashir Adeniyi.

In a separate development, the NCS reported a significant seizure at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, where fake $1.2 million notes, 148 drones, and five cryptocurrency machines were confiscated between January and April.

These recent seizures underscore the vigilance and effectiveness of customs officials in curbing illegal activities and safeguarding Nigeria’s economic interests.
