Earlier reports confirmed that Ekpa, along with others, was apprehended in Finland for suspected links to terrorism. Finnish authorities allege that Ekpa was involved in spreading separatist propaganda on social media, specifically committing the offense in Lahti on August 23, 2021.
Fani-Kayode took to his X handle to describe Ekpa as a “misguided young man” and a “notorious coward” who found pleasure in inciting violence and suffering in Nigeria’s South-East region. He further labeled Ekpa as a “psychopath” and “enemy of humanity” for his role in perpetuating divisive rhetoric and violence, resulting in the deaths of innocent Nigerians.
FFK’s statement emphasized that Ekpa’s actions were carried out from the safety of Finland, highlighting the damaging impact of his words and actions on the people of Nigeria. He concluded by urging others who promote violence and division to reflect on the consequences of their behavior.
