According to an indictment filed in the U.S. District Court in Texas, Said was charged with attempting to provide material support to the terrorist organization ISIS. The court documents state that Said has been posting pro-ISIS content on social media since 2017.

In July 2023, Said allegedly uploaded videos of an attack on Nigerian soldiers at a Borno checkpoint to ISIS-affiliated websites. While the exact number of casualties in the attack remains unclear, Said’s activities were flagged as part of a larger investigation into global terrorism.

The indictment also connects Said to terrorist activities in Syria, particularly in the cities of Damascus and Homs, indicating the scope of his involvement in international terrorism.

If convicted, Said faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 for attempting to aid ISIS.
