President Tinubu Calls for Investigation into Abuja Tanker Explosion

President Bola Tinubu has ordered a thorough investigation into a tanker explosion that took place in Karu, Abuja, on the night of March 19, 2025. The explosion led to the deaths of 10 people and left over 30 others injured.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Emergency Management Department (FEMD) confirmed that 10 people died, and many others suffered severe burns. Over 30 people were transferred to specialized hospitals for treatment. The explosion, caused by a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) truck losing control, also resulted in the destruction of at least 10 vehicles.

FEMD officials have urged motorists to follow traffic rules and avoid reckless driving. Emergency responders continue their work as authorities investigate the cause of the explosion.
