Ganduje Responds to Atiku’s Coalition Efforts Against APC

Ganduje expressed confidence that no political coalition, especially those led by individuals with “no identifiable political base,” would succeed in dislodging Tinubu. He argued that the coalition lacked unity and was built on differing political ideologies and personal interests. Ganduje emphasized that the APC would secure victory in 2027 due to Tinubu’s performance in office and the disarray within the opposition.

Atiku, during a recent news conference in Abuja, revealed that the opposition’s move aimed to replicate the 2015 coalition that led to the defeat of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). However, Ganduje dismissed the opposition’s efforts as futile, given the lack of agreement among its key members, including Atiku, former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Minister Rotimi Amaechi.

Further remarks from Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, referred to the coalition’s efforts as a “political gambit dead on arrival.” He criticized Atiku, El-Rufai, and Peter Obi as “elusive political wanderers” and suggested that their alliance lacked credibility and would not resonate with Nigerians.

Additionally, the coalition’s statement condemning the emergency rule in Rivers State, calling it unconstitutional, added to the political tension. They demanded the reversal of the federal intervention in the state and called on Nigerians to resist what they saw as an assault on democracy.
