Tinubu’s Powerful Message To Nigerians As Nation Turns 65

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to rise above divisions and unite in the pursuit of national progress, stressing that sustainable prosperity can only be achieved through collective effort.
The President’s message was delivered by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a special Juma’a prayer at the National Mosque, Abuja, which marked the official commencement of activities for Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.
Conveying Tinubu’s words, Idris emphasized that the nation’s future rests on a shared sense of responsibility. “Mr President has asked me to remind all Nigerians, regardless of affiliations, to embrace unity so that our collective journey toward sustainable prosperity can be realized,” he stated.
Despite years of political, economic, and security challenges, Idris noted that Nigeria has now found its footing on the path of sustainable development. He added that the anniversary theme, “All Hands on Deck for the Progress and Development of Our Nation,” reflects the administration’s conviction that national prosperity requires cohesion and unwavering commitment.
In his sermon, Professor Luqman Zakariya, one of the National Mosque Imams, prayed for divine wisdom for the nation’s leaders and called on citizens to reject corruption, tribalism, and injustice. “The source of peace, we seek your peace upon Nigeria, dispel the cloud of insecurity and establish lasting peace across our land,” he prayed.
The prayer session attracted prominent figures from politics and diplomacy, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, members of the Federal Executive Council, senators, House of Representatives members, state officials, and foreign envoys. Ambassadors from Algeria, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Argentina were also in attendance.
Celebrations of the 65th Independence anniversary will continue with an inter-denominational church service on Sunday, a press briefing on Monday, and will culminate in the presidential broadcast and anniversary parade on October 1.
