The Labour Party in Adamawa State has received no fewer than 700 persons who defected from the All Progressives Congress and the New Nigerian Peoples Party in Yola South Local Government Area of the state.

Five ward chairmen of the NNPP in the local government led the defectors.

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Umar Madawaki, as well as the state party chairman, Nicholas Christopher, and other party executives, received the defectors on Saturday in Yola.

Madawaki said the defectors had taken the right decision in view of the rising profile of the Labour Party in the state.

Madawaki, who predicted the routing of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state, said, “History is about to be made in Adamawa and the nation because the Labour Party is a movement which is set to oust the ruling All Progressives Congress at the national level and the Peoples Democratic Party at the state level and take over the reins of power for the benefit of all.”
