In a surprising development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology.

According to Ireporter Online, Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, tendered his resignation after alleging that he was the target of a “blackmail campaign” orchestrated by political opponents. In his resignation letter, the minister expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve the nation but stressed that he would not allow undue distractions to hinder the administration’s progress.

President Tinubu, in his response, acknowledged Nnaji’s contributions to the government’s innovation and technology sector, commending his service and wishing him success in his future endeavours.

The resignation adds to the growing list of changes within President Tinubu’s cabinet, coming at a crucial time when his administration is implementing major reforms across multiple sectors to strengthen governance and development.
