The Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh FNSE, on Monday joined his colleagues in the Federal Executive Council for the official press briefing to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

The event, held at the National Press Centre, Abuja, was led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, who described Independence Day as a profound opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s resilience and renew commitment to unity, peace, and progress. He noted that the nation’s strength lies in its ability to rise after every storm and continue moving forward with faith in its destiny.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris fnipr, used the occasion to highlight the bold reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, pointing to economic stability, infrastructure expansion, and grassroots development as key pillars of progress.

Engr. Momoh’s participation underscored the strategic role of the Ministry of Regional Development in driving inclusivity through the newly established regional development commissions, ensuring that no part of the country is left behind in the ongoing transformation.

As Nigeria marks 65 years of independence, the Federal Executive Council reaffirmed its commitment to national renewal, urging citizens to embrace the theme of this year’s anniversary: “Nigeria at 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”
