According to Ireporter Online, actor Taye Arimoro has threatened to take legal action against his colleague Peggy Ovire, demanding a public apology and N100 million in damages over an alleged on-set assault. The incident reportedly occurred when Taye attempted to leave a movie set after his contracted working hours had ended, but his vehicle was allegedly blocked and its tyres deflated by members of Peggy’s team.

Taye shared a video that circulated widely on social media, showing injuries to his lips and gums, and accused Peggy and her crew of physical aggression. Peggy, however, denied the claims, asserting that Taye was the aggressor and had assaulted two crew members, including her driver, who allegedly suffered ear injuries.

Subsequent CCTV footage appeared to contradict Peggy’s version of events, showing her removing a wig and preparing to engage in a confrontation with Taye.

Taye’s legal representatives stated that his rights to personal liberty, freedom of movement, and dignity were violated. They are seeking compensation for emotional distress, psychological trauma, and loss of income. In a statement posted online, Taye directed a pre-action notice to Peggy, requesting that all communications be forwarded to his solicitors. Peggy has been given a seven-day window to respond before further legal action is pursued.
