“This Must Never Be Normal!” – Davido Speaks Out As Nigeria Grapples With Deadly Assaults
Afrobeats icon David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has voiced strong concern over the rising wave of violent attacks across the country, describing the recent incidents in Kebbi and Kwara states as deeply troubling and unacceptable. According to Ireporter Online, the singer reacted to the abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the killing of worshippers at a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Kwara.
Reports indicate that three worshippers were killed during the Tuesday evening assault on the Kwara church, while several others, including the pastor, were taken away by armed men. The attack occurred barely a day after gunmen invaded the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, where 25 students were abducted and the Vice Principal was fatally shot.
In a statement shared on on Wednesday night, Davido described the incidents as heartbreaking, noting that no family should ever experience such trauma. He commiserated with the families of the abducted girls and the victims of the Kwara church attack, calling the events alarming signs of a worsening security landscape.
The music star warned against allowing such tragedies to become routine, urging Nigerians to remain united against the escalating threat of violence. He emphasized the need to prioritize the protection of children, insisting that every Nigerian child deserves a safe and hopeful upbringing.
Davido appealed to the public to support security agencies with credible intelligence that could aid the rescue of the abducted Kebbi students, stressing that all efforts must be employed to ensure the girls return home unharmed. He also offered prayers for the families affected by the Kwara attack and asked for divine comfort for the grieving communities.
