ANBROAD Leads Massive Walk Against Rising Youth Drug Abuse In Lagos
According to Ireporter Online, the Association of Nigeria Broadcasters (ANBROAD) in Lagos State has embarked on a public sensitisation walk to intensify awareness on the dangers of drug abuse among youths. The campaign, tagged “Say No to Drug Abuse,” took participants from the Ikeja Underbridge to Alausa in a coordinated effort to curb the growing trend of substance misuse.
The march, led by the Lagos governor of the association, Wale Omotola, brought together broadcasters, youth organisations and community advocates, all united in amplifying the call for a drug-free society. The Lagos State Government deployed a patrol team to support the procession, while Yoyo Bitters Company partnered with the association as a sponsor of the advocacy campaign.
Omotola, expressing concern over the rising cases of drug abuse, stressed that addressing the challenge required collective effort, noting that government alone could not carry the burden. “We must all join hands to spread the message and protect our youths,” he urged.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Health, commended ANBROAD for the initiative. He described the awareness walk as a timely complement to ongoing state efforts aimed at fostering healthy living and promoting youth development.
The event formed part of activities marking the 2025 ANBROAD Lagos Week, which features a series of community-focused and professional engagements. ANBROAD Lagos noted that the weeklong programme underscores its commitment to social responsibility, youth empowerment and sustained advocacy against drug abuse.
