In response, troops of Operation Hadin Kai, with support from the Air Component, launched a counteroffensive. Military sources disclosed that through Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms, the terrorists were tracked as they retreated towards the Sambisa axis. Precision airstrikes were subsequently carried out, neutralizing more than 30 of the attackers. Ground forces later reinforced the community, securing Darajamal and neighboring villages.

A security source revealed that clearance and search operations remain ongoing to prevent reprisal attacks and to reassure displaced residents. Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, alongside senior military commanders, has since visited the community to assess both the humanitarian situation and security response, underscoring government’s commitment to restoring peace in the region.
