Nigeria At COP30 — Momoh’s Strategic Engagement Reshapes The Country’s Climate Presence In Belém

Nigeria strengthened its visibility at the ongoing COP30 Climate Conference in Belém, Brazil, as the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh FNSE, participated in several high-level engagements on Monday.

The minister joined plenary sessions, attended key side events, and engaged in strategic bilateral meetings with international partners, including the European Union delegation. His participation reinforced Nigeria’s commitment to climate-smart regional development, environmental engineering, and sustainable infrastructure across the six geopolitical zones.

At the plenary, Nigeria’s national presentation was delivered by the Honourable Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, who outlined the country’s priorities on mitigation, adaptation, and long-term climate transition under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Engr. Momoh’s engagements helped position Nigeria as a proactive and collaborative voice at COP30, opening doors to new partnerships and deepening discussions on climate financing and regional resilience. With his own presentation scheduled for today, expectations remain high as Nigeria continues to assert itself on the global climate stage.
