Odumodublvck Slams Lagos Music Scene: “It Breeds Selfish Artists”
Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has issued a stark warning to emerging artists about the pitfalls of launching careers in Lagos, describing the city as a breeding ground for greed and self-centeredness. The Abuja-born artist, known for his unfiltered commentary, took to social media to share his controversial perspective on Nigeria’s entertainment capital.
“Lagos is the worst place for a young artist to grow,” Odumodublvck declared. “It’s a selfish ecosystem that turns you into a packaged beast—greedy, self-centered, and disconnected from authenticity.” The “Declan Rice” hitmaker credited his Abuja roots for his unapologetic artistry, claiming it gave him an edge in the industry.
In a related revelation, the rapper announced plans to exit music once his Anti World Gangsters collective achieves success. “Once all my guys make it, I’m out,” he stated, referencing his tight-knit crew of Agunna, Fatboy E, Reeplay, Shagba, and producer Cross. The declaration has sparked debate about artist longevity and loyalty in Nigeria’s competitive music landscape.
