According to Ireporter Online, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, is set to elevate seven senior chiefs in the Otun Olubadan line during a promotion ceremony scheduled for tomorrow at the Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan.

Senior Chief Lekan Alabi will advance from Maye Olubadan to the prestigious position of Abese Olubadan, while Senior Chief Akin Fijabi is expected to move from Ekefa Olubadan to Maye Olubadan. In the same exercise, Senior Chief Saka Lapade is slated for elevation to Ekefa Olubadan.

Former Senate Leader, Senior Chief Teslim Folarin, who currently holds the title of Aare Alaasa Olubadan, will be promoted to Agbaakin Olubadan. Additionally, Senior Chief Muibi Adewuyi will rise from Ikolaba Olubadan to become Aare Alasa Olubadan.

Other beneficiaries include Chief Raufu Delesolu, who will step into the role of Ikolaba Olubadan, and Chief Hammed Lanihun, who is to be elevated from Ayingun Olubadan to Asaju Olubadan.

The development follows the recent elevation of five members of the Olubadan-in-Council, an exercise initiated two weeks ago to fill vacancies created by Oba Ladoja’s ascension as the 44th Olubadan. The ongoing promotion process will continue in the coming weeks, giving the remaining nine chiefs in the Otun line an opportunity to advance in the traditional hierarchy.
