According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Omah Lay has sparked widespread debate after declaring that neither religious appeals nor prayers alone can resolve the country’s escalating security challenges. The singer, in a candid message shared on his social media platform, stressed that meaningful progress will only come when citizens take deliberate, practical steps toward addressing the issues confronting the nation.

In his words, “NO JESUS, NO ALLAH, NO PRAYER IS SAVING US. NOTHING CHANGES UNTIL WE WAKE TF UP ,” a statement that has continued to draw extensive reactions across the public space.

His comments emerged amid rising outrage over recent violent incidents, including a deadly attack on a church in Kwara State and the abduction of several schoolgirls in Kebbi. Influential figures such as Don Jazzy, Davido, Falz, and Mr Macaroni have also called on the authorities to take swift, decisive action to safeguard citizens.

At the same time, singer Yemi Alade rejected suggestions for foreign intervention, insisting that African nations must take responsibility for solving their own security problems rather than depending on external forces.

She admitted that although she sometimes contemplates leaving Nigeria, she remains rooted because her family is still within the country. Ogunmola described Nigeria as her home—one she cannot abandon despite its difficulties.
