Tension has reportedly heightened within Nigeria’s top business circles as hackers allegedly gained unauthorized access to the mobile phones of Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola, issuing direct financial demands shortly after breaching their devices.

According to Ireporter Online, individuals familiar with the situation disclosed that the phones of the two prominent businessmen were compromised within the past week. While Femi Otedola, Chairman of FirstHoldCo Plc, suffered one breach, Aliko Dangote was said to have experienced two separate intrusions within 48 hours.

Insiders indicated that the attackers immediately demanded money from both men, although the specific ransom figure, the data accessed, and whether security agencies have been notified remain unclear at the time of reporting.

Both businessmen, widely regarded as long-time allies who frequently describe each other as brothers, have not publicly commented on the incident.

Otedola was recently present at an event where Dangote revealed his intention to increase the production capacity of the Dangote Refinery from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million bpd. Commending Dangote’s vision, Otedola described him as “Africa’s pride,” stressing that the refinery represents a generational investment that Nigerians will eventually take ownership of.

He added that Dangote’s unwavering commitment to advancing Nigeria and Africa would remain a landmark legacy for decades to come.
