Don Jazzy DBanj seemingly end 12 year rift in new video 30

According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian music star D’Banj has revealed that the dissolution of the iconic Mo’Hits Records was solely the decision of his former partner, Don Jazzy. He clarified that contrary to widespread assumptions, he had no intention of ending their partnership when the split happened.

Speaking during an interview with journalist Seun Okinbaloye, D’Banj explained that Don Jazzy opted for the separation, a move he believes helped preserve the mutual respect and cordial relationship they still share. He disclosed that Don Jazzy handed over full rights to his entire music catalog, including several unreleased tracks, to ensure he could continue his career without creative or legal constraints.

D’Banj noted that “Oliver Twist,” their last major collaborative hit, symbolized the closing chapter of their joint musical journey and served as a statement of their global ambitions. He emphasized that the breakup was never about disagreements but about vision and future direction, adding that he is grateful for how everything eventually turned out.

Mo’Hits Records, which the duo co-founded, was instrumental in shaping the modern Nigerian music landscape, producing chart-topping hits and launching the careers of artistes such as Wande Coal, Dr SID, and D’Prince. After the split, Don Jazzy went on to establish Mavin Records, a label that has since produced new-generation stars including Tiwa Savage, Rema, and Ayra Starr, further cementing his legacy in the industry.
