NAFDAC’s Post-Marketing Surveillance team discovered Foula Condoms, packaged in sets of three, in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, and Zango, Katsina State. The agency confirmed that the condoms are unregistered and lack English labeling, making them non-compliant with Nigerian health standards.

NAFDAC emphasized the risks associated with using unregistered condoms, noting that these products have not been verified for safety, quality, or effectiveness. Inferior condoms can compromise protection against unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, as leakage or breakage prevents them from functioning as effective barriers.

NAFDAC has directed its regional directors and coordinators across the country to monitor and remove these unapproved products from the market.
