London Mayor Praises Nigerian TikTok Star London Bus Aunty After Major Award Win

According to Ireporter Online, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has congratulated London-based Nigerian content creator Bemi Orojogun, popularly known as London Bus Aunty, for winning the Video of the Year award at the TikTok UK Awards 2025.

In a post on X, Khan commended Orojogun for her passion for London’s iconic red buses, noting that her work has captivated audiences nationwide. He also highlighted her admiration for the Bakerloop, London’s newest express bus route.

Orojogun received the nomination alongside Friends of Elmtree, Sam Morris, Gardiner Brothers, Joseph Machines, and Brad Ben, in recognition of outstanding content creators on the platform.

The creator rose to fame in 2024 with a viral forced-perspective video and has since become a notable digital influencer, collaborating with major brands such as Burberry, H&M, and MAC Cosmetics. She has also partnered with Khan on campaigns promoting London’s zero-emission buses.

In her acceptance speech, Orojogun encouraged aspiring creators to follow their passions, saying, “Don’t allow your age to stop you. Don’t allow your family to say don’t do that, it’s embarrassing. If you love it, do it.”

Her award-winning video has garnered nearly 50 million views on TikTok. Fans celebrated her achievement, with many playfully suggesting she attempt similar stunts in bustling areas such as Oshodi or CMS in Nigeria.
