a decomposed body was discovered inside a car parked near the annex gate of the National Assembly complex in Abuja on Sunday morning. The deceased, identified as 55-year-old Gaddafi Iwar, a Tiv man believed to have been working as a labourer at a construction site within the premises, was found lifeless in a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF around 9:00 a.m.

Security operatives evacuated the remains to the National Assembly Clinic for medical checks before transferring them to Asokoro General Hospital. However, the hospital declined to admit the corpse due to its advanced state of decomposition. To avoid potential health risks, members of the Tiv community and youth leaders later transported the body to Gbawu Village, a border town between AMAC and Kuje Area Council, where it was buried.

In a separate incident, suspected bandits abducted the wife and daughter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Sakpefu community, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State. The attackers invaded the community on Sunday night, firing gunshots to terrify residents before seizing their victims. The hostages have been identified as Hajiya Fatima, the chairman’s wife, and his daughter, Amina. Sources revealed that the assailants operated unhindered for several minutes before escaping with the captives to an unknown location.
