Nollywood Star Yemi Solade Says Life Got Better After Leaving Church

veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has disclosed why he has stayed away from church for over a decade. Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, the actor explained that his decision dates back to 2013 after an incident that left him uneasy about how church activities were conducted.

Solade recalled how a pastor once instructed him to stop accepting acting jobs on Sundays, a demand he felt interfered with his career and personal freedom. He said the experience prompted him to withdraw from regular church attendance, noting that the constant pressure of committees and frequent commitments made it difficult for him to concentrate on his profession.

The actor emphasized that stepping away from church did not negatively impact his life. On the contrary, he described his years outside church as peaceful and productive, allowing him more time to focus on his work and family without interruptions. He also rejected the belief that life inevitably falls apart without church participation, insisting his own experience has proven otherwise.
