Damola Olatunji Slams OPM Pastor Over Plans To Marry Off Autistic Daughter: “This Has Crossed A Line

Nollywood actor Damola Olatunji has publicly criticised the founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Chibuzor Chinyere, over reports of a plan to marry off his 21-year-old autistic adopted daughter.

According to IReporter Online, the clergyman reportedly offered financial incentives to any man willing to marry the young woman, a move that has since triggered widespread debate and condemnation.

Reacting via his Instagram page, Olatunji described the development as inappropriate, stressing that marriage requires full, informed consent from both parties. He argued that individuals with special needs should not be placed in situations where their ability to make such decisions may be compromised, adding that proper care systems should be prioritised instead.

He further suggested that instead of pursuing marriage arrangements, a structured care home would be a more compassionate and suitable option for individuals living with autism.

Olatunji also emphasised the importance of protecting vulnerable persons in society, stating that people with autism deserve dignity, structured support, and safeguarding rather than arrangements that could be seen as exploitative or harmful.
