Adams made these remarks in response to controversy surrounding an audio clip allegedly implicating Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo (Sunday Igboho), in the death of Bola Ige.

He refuted the claims, asserting that the audio clip had been distorted and manipulated. Adams affirmed his readiness to set the record straight and defend himself against the accusations.

Earlier, Igboho and Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, threatened legal action against Adams for implicating them in an alleged assassination plot.

In a statement, Adams denounced the threat of lawsuits as part of a concerted effort to discredit him, reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding his integrity.

He explained that his silence was initially in line with peace initiatives led by prominent Yoruba leaders, including the Ooni of Ife. However, he emphasized the need to address the falsehoods propagated against him.

Adams clarified that the audio clip in question was from a private conversation in 2021, where he discussed rumors about Igboho’s alleged involvement in Bola Ige’s death. He stressed that his remarks were speculative and not made with malicious intent.

Regarding Ayinde, Adams reiterated that he merely mentioned unconfirmed rumors and did not intend to defame him.

In his statement, Adams warned against misinterpreting his silence, reaffirming his determination to protect his reputation from unwarranted attacks.
