Seyi Vibez Officially Leaves Record Label, Set To Go Independent

Renowned Nigerian musician, Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, better known as Seyi Vibez has parted ways with his record label, Dapper Music.

A check on Seyi Vibez’s social media page showed that the 24-year-old singer and the record label have unfollowed each other.

Ireporteronline  understands that Seyi Vibez’s decision to leave the record label came after the artist faced significant backlash on social media from Nigerians residing in Toronto, Canada, due to his abrupt cancellation of a scheduled performance.

In response to this situation, Seyi Vibez updated his social media biography on Sunday to reflect his new status as an “Independent artist” and removed all previous posts.

This change marks the beginning of his journey as an independent musician.

Recently, Seyi Vibez released the official video for his song ‘Lagos.’ The piece speaks about a story of love, betrayal and survival.

Barely four months ago, Seyi Vibez opened up about his humble beginnings.

It could be recalled that Seyi Vibez gained popularity following his breakthrough single ‘Chance (Na Ham)’ in 2022.

He won the Best Street-Hop Artiste with the song at the 16th Headies Awards in 2023.

In a recent interview with Cool FM, Lagos, Ireporteronline reports that the ‘Different Pattern’ hitmaker recalled how his family urged him to leave home at age 15 to hustle for himself and the entire family.

According to the singer, life was difficult in the ghetto.

He said, “I left home when I was 15. Things were difficult in the ghetto, so I had to make way for myself. Even my own family freed me. They said, ‘Go, don’t die here. It’s better you go away and hustle for yourself’.”
