Breaking: Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Seize 11 Cows And 34 Sheep From Rustlers

The Niger State Police Command has successfully rescued a kidnapped student and recovered 11 cows and 34 sheep from suspected cattle rustlers in Minna.

According to him, the victim, Cornelius Damulak, a 36-year-old student of Veritas University, Abuja, was found by a police patrol team attached to the Chanchaga division on February 14, 2025, around 12 p.m.

Damulak was reportedly abducted from his residence in Bwari, Abuja, on February 6, 2025, at about 5 a.m. by suspected kidnappers.

“After escaping from his captors, the victim was found wandering along the Pogo-Paiko highway in Minna,” Abiodun stated.

He further revealed that Damulak was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, while efforts are ongoing to locate his family.

Additionally, police operatives from the Maitumbi division intercepted a vehicle transporting suspected stolen cattle from Sarkin Pawa on February 11.

The police arrested five suspects and recovered 11 cows and 34 sheep.

“The suspects are currently under investigation, and efforts to identify the rightful owner of the livestock are ongoing,” Abiodun added.
