BREAKING: Wike Reveals Very Strong Allegations Against Fubara (DETAILS)

Wike and Fubara

Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has expressed his discontent with his successor, Siminalayi Fubara, alleging that the current governor associated with some of his political adversaries upon taking office.

Wike, presently serving as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), made these remarks on Wednesday in Abuja during a meeting with members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, led by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.

Mohammed, accompanied by Governor Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Governor Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), and Governor Kefas Agbu (Taraba), was at the meeting to discuss the political situation in Rivers State.

The FCT Minister and prominent PDP figure also emphasized that no one can dismantle his political framework in the oil-rich South-South state.

Wike said, “Yes, we have talked about the crisis in the state but let me tell anybody who cares: nobody can intimidate me, nobody. It doesn’t matter whether you go and bring thugs on the road, it doesn’t matter whether you are Ijaw, if I want to do something, I will do it. Impeachment is not a military coup; impeachment is provided under the constitution.

“Nobody can take away our political structure, no one.

“You cannot work and people begin to bring enemies, those who fought you when you are struggling for the person to be in office, nobody does that.

“I am not a political ingrate, I am not — but don’t touch the political structure of Rivers State. I will not shut my eyes.”

“My conscience is clear, nobody can rubbish me,” he added.

On Monday, the political situation in Rivers State escalated into a full-blown crisis as the Rivers State House of Assembly initiated impeachment proceedings against Fubara. He took office in May following Wike’s two consecutive eight-year terms.

Fubara is facing allegations of serious misconduct that are deemed inappropriate for his position.

The Assembly Complex turned into a chaotic scene after a section caught fire on Sunday night. The following Monday morning witnessed further turmoil, with the removal of key officials in the Assembly accompanied by the sound of gunshots piercing the air.

Fubara visited the Complex on Monday to assess the extent of the damage and claimed that he was targeted by police gunfire. The police stated that they are investigating this allegation.

President Bola Tinubu has since held meetings with both Fubara and Wike in an attempt to find a resolution to the crisis.

In the meantime, a Rivers State High Court has issued an order preventing the state assembly from proceeding with the governor’s impeachment.
