This launch comes as Trump prepares to be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States on Monday, January 20.

The cryptocurrency initiative was reportedly coordinated by CIC Digital LLC, a subsidiary of the Trump Organization, which previously marketed Trump-branded shoes and fragrances across the US.

By Saturday afternoon, just hours after the launch, $Trump’s market capitalization had climbed to nearly $5.5 billion, or £4.5 billion, as reported by CoinMarketCap.com.

CIC Digital LLC and Fight Fight Fight LLC, a Delaware-based company established earlier this month, together hold 80% of the $Trump tokens. The exact amount of money Trump stands to earn from the project remains unclear.
