Dangote Sh*cks Market, Slashes Cooking Gas Price To ₦760/kg — Lowest In Nigeria!

According to reports from Ireporter Online, the Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), popularly known as cooking gas, by ₦50 per kilogram.
The refinery reportedly lowered its price from ₦810 per kilogram, recorded the previous week, to ₦760 per kilogram, making it the most affordable option currently available in the domestic market. Comparative data from other major suppliers reveal that Matrix and Ardova depots are selling at ₦920 per kilogram, A.Y.M Shafa and NIPCO at ₦910, while Stockgap Depot maintains a rate of ₦950 per kilogram.
With this latest adjustment, Dangote Refinery now offers the lowest ex-depot rate nationwide, undercutting competitors whose prices range between ₦910 and ₦950 per kilogram.
This development follows recent concerns raised by the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, who linked the earlier surge in LPG prices to the industrial action by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).
Ojulari, speaking after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House on Sunday, explained that the strike action had halted loading and distribution activities across the sector, creating an artificial shortage and temporary spike in prices. He assured Nigerians that with the resumption of normal operations, prices are expected to stabilize soon.
