“I Had One Job And I Blew It” — Tobi Makinde Reveals Proposal Mishap After Announcing Engagement

Nollywood actor Tobi Makinde has officially announced his engagement to his longtime partner, expressing excitement over his forthcoming marriage journey.

According to Ireporter Online, the actor shared the joyful news via his Instagram page, where he humorously recounted how he made a minor blunder while proposing. Makinde revealed that he bought a ring that was slightly bigger than intended, admitting, “I had only one job—to get a ring that fit perfectly—but I blew it and got a bigger size.”

Reflecting on the proposal, the actor said the engagement took place months ago and expressed gratitude for divine guidance in his relationship. “Some months ago, the love of my life said yes to me and I was most delighted. I’m excited for this journey I’m about to embark on. As always, I sought God’s face, and He has never led me astray,” he said.

Makinde also playfully added that he has now “left the singles’ group,” encouraging his fans to “shout hallelujah.”

The talented actor, who began his career as a child star, rose to fame through his role in Funke Akindele’s popular TV series Jenifa’s Diary. He has since evolved into a filmmaker and director, earning acclaim for his work on the blockbuster film Battle on Buka Street, one of Nollywood’s highest-grossing movies to date.
