President Bola Tinubu on Thursday held a strategic meeting with the 36 state coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, in what observers describe as a move to consolidate political support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Also in attendance were Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside other prominent party stakeholders.

According to Ireporter Online, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative was established by President Tinubu on November 25, 2025, as part of efforts to promote his administration’s policies and galvanise nationwide backing for a possible re-election bid. Governor Hope Uzodimma was appointed to spearhead the programme as the Renewed Hope Ambassador.

During the engagement, the President reiterated his intention to seek a second term in office in 2027, expressing confidence in his administration’s direction and reaffirming his commitment to tackling Nigeria’s pressing socio-economic challenges. He emphasised his resolve to uplift citizens, stating that his government aims to eliminate poverty and ignorance while strengthening democratic values across the country.

Tinubu also criticised opposition parties, suggesting that his leadership would present a distinct alternative to what he described as unproductive political conduct. He stressed the importance of upholding democratic principles, particularly the separation of powers and respect for judicial pronouncements, regardless of personal or political interests.

Addressing concerns about rising political tension ahead of the next election cycle, the President maintained that he remains unfazed by opposition tactics, noting that his extensive political experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of rival strategies. He asserted that he would not be intimidated, having previously navigated similar political landscapes.
