of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Edo State Chapter, who passed away recently.

Ebiogbodin tragically collapsed and died after a confrontation with police officers in Benin City. The governor made the announcement during his condolence visit to the deceased’s widow and family, expressing his displeasure over the untimely death.

Okpebholo vowed to engage with the State’s Police Commissioner, Umoru Ozigi, to ensure better conduct from police officers and prevent similar incidents. He emphasized that the death was avoidable, blaming the police officers for their inappropriate behavior at the checkpoint where the incident occurred.

“It is painful to lose a soul in such circumstances, but I will speak to the police to ensure they act with more professionalism. His passing is heartbreaking, but we must remember that life is uncertain for us all,” said the governor.
