The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to receive the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the court judgment that nullified the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), according to official sources.

According to Ireporter Online, a Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja, Kogi State, had earlier set aside its own ruling which directed INEC to register the NDC as a political party. The court, in suit number FHC/LKJ/CS/49/2025, presided over by Justice Isah Dashen, held that its December 10, 2025 judgment was delivered without hearing all necessary parties, thereby rendering the proceedings constitutionally flawed.

The decision followed an application filed by the Peace Movement Party (PMP), which argued that it had a direct legal interest in the matter and ought to have been joined before judgment was delivered. The court agreed, stating that key facts were not fully disclosed during the initial proceedings.

Justice Dashen consequently ordered that the case be heard afresh, with INEC, the PMP, and the NDC all joined as proper parties to the suit.

Meanwhile, sources within INEC confirmed that while the commission is aware of the ruling delivered on Friday, it has not yet received the Certified True Copy of the judgment. The source added that the commission would not make any official comment until it has reviewed the court’s decision.
